Is it because Border Collies are dogs known for being smart? Why does Noemi have such a deep and thoughtful face? 

She’s such a sweet girl and since I have spent the last three or four weeks visiting with her at Muttville Senior Dog Rescue, she has only shown me this quiet demeanor.

When I look into her eyes she seems to be telling me something important. I get the feeling that I need to pay attention, so I find myself  putting away my camera and not taking pictures when I’m with her.

Her body language definitely encourages quiet petting sessions.  I found myself today sitting on the hard  linoleum floor with her, quietly massaging her hips and petting her sides for over 15 minutes.

It was glorious to only think about how to get her so relaxed that she would start to snore. I stopped thinking about the world and the noises from out on the street and only thought about maintaining the rhythm of petting her. 

I wonder if the knowledge behind her gaze was that she knew that I needed this time with her ?
