August 23 Dog Lovers Fight Cancer with Bark For Life of San Francisco

Grab your sneakers and best buddies then head over to Golden Gate Park for this great canine fundraiser on August 23rd in San Francisco.

The American Cancer Society Bark For Life honors the caregiving qualities of canine companions and is a noncompetitive walk event for dogs and their owners to raise funding and awareness for the fight against cancer.

The Bark For Life event will feature an Opening Ceremony with a Cancer Survivor Lap (for both people & pets), as well as canine related activities, demonstrations, entertainment, vendors, silent auction, and more. Come take a bite out of cancer!

Bark For Life

Bring your best canine friends and join us for a fun-filled day starting with a walk, and then continuing with canine demos, contests, and activities.

The Opening Ceremony brings everyone together for a high-energy event kickoff to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, to inspire hope by sharing recent accomplishments and progress, and to remind everyone that while we are winning this battle, fighting cancer is a year-round priority.

During the Survivors Lap, upbeat music plays as all cancer survivors at the event take the first lap around the track cheered on by the other participants who line the track, celebrating their victory over cancer.

The Closing Ceremony is a time to remember the lives of those lost and to celebrate that each of us has committed, through our participation in a Relay event, to fight back against this disease over the next year.
