Dog lovers have a new reason to arrive at SFO early for their holiday travel
"We're hoping our therapy dogs will help provide stress relief to SFO passengers during the busy holiday season and beyond."
The San Francisco SPCA and San Francisco International Airport launched their new program, titled "Wag Brigade" yesterday. Hoping to make your airport experience more enjoyable, they will have therapy dogs on duty every day wearing "Pet Me!" vests.
This is such a great idea to have year-round at all major airports or wherever certified therapy dogs exist. Imagine you're changing planes and have a layover, or are stuck waiting an extra hour or more because your flight is delayed, puppy kisses would definitely alleviate my frustration.
The handlers are the dogs’ owners. All handlers have passed a 10 year background check and accompany the dogs at all times. Handlers wear identifying vests, and each attends classroom and in-terminal training to become familiar with the Airport and assist customers with general inquiries.
