Influence Positively Questionnaire: Yvonne DiVita
We have started a new weekly questionnaire called Influence Positively that features pets (who have humans who type for them) and people answering five questions. The common thread is that everyone is involved in pet adoption, community involvement, pet advocacy and related areas we care about. We want to highlight some of the decent qualities and unspoken traits found in individuals who make up our world. They are the fabric of our society and demonstrate how to give fearlessly.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?
My idea of perfect happiness would be living on a ranch with lots of pets, and knowing I could care for them properly. Ideally, that would be here in Colorado, where the dogs, cats, ferrets, chickens...whatever...would have a lot of room to play in. I would love' em to pieces! I can see myself on the front porch with my coffee every morning, and then...in my office in the afternoon, blogging about them.
If you could come back as
a dog or a cat, which one would it be & why?
If I could come back as an animal it would be a
house cat. Seriously, napping all day, being doted upon when I'm
awake, sitting on a windowsill watching the birds and squirrels, how
great would that be?
What is your
pets most treasured possession?
My pet (the cranky Wabby Wibby, a 17 year
old cat) loves her futon. Yes, it's HER futon. She sleeps on it and
woe be it to anyone else who thinks they should be able to even sit
on it! She will give them her best, "This futon is not big enough for
both of us," look!
Your proudest achievement so far?
My proudest achievement so far is watching my
three children become astonishingly smart and talented adults. All
of whom support their Mom in her second proudest achievement -
BlogPaws!
Who
are your heroes in real life?
My heroes in real life are the regular folk who rescue animals from tragedy, neglect, and abandonment. Every day people, like us, who care for the pets and other animals that deserve a better life - one full of love and attention. These people, the ones who actually give their time and effort and often cash, are the people I think are angels from heaven and I admire them so much. I hope to be one someday - if I can learn to better endure the heartbreak I feel every time I step into a shelter! I try to help by being their voice, but it's not the same. Bless the angels who save our pets!
