The family's goal in fostering dogs is to allow potential owners to meet the dogs in a home environment, where they often behave better than they do in shelter kennels.
"A lot of dogs get adopted better after fostering," Alyssa said.
Lauren added that shelter dogs can be the most affectionate pets.
"All of our dogs have had hard lives," she said. "They will just stare at you, and they're so happy to see you. You know they really appreciate having a home."
