Coal City vet donates pet masks to fire department
COAL CITY — Coal City pet owners can breathe easy knowing that if the need arises, first responders have equipment that could save their furry friend's life in an emergency.
According to firefighter/paramedic Nick Doerfler, in April, the department received a set of three pet oxygen masks as a donation from Dr. Christopher Shirkey, a Coal City veterinarian. Doerfler said the donation was made following a request from firefighter/paramedic Chris Perry.
