San Francisco Mayoral Candidates Debate Dog Issues

It's official: an upcoming mayoral debate is going to the dogs. The adorably named political action committee DogPAC is holding the first-ever, they say, forum to "endorse candidates with strong positions on pressing animal welfare issues."

Those candidates will answer a series of already-determined questions by moderator Evelyn Nieves, a local journalist who currently writes for the Associated Press.

"Candidates will be asked about their positions on access to open space and outdoor recreation areas and parks, increasing pet-friendly housing, and protecting animal welfare," says DogPAC.
